This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle 'missing' as This show starts without ITV hosts

This Morning viewers were left wondering what happened to the show's presenters on Tuesday, when Holy Willoughby y and Craig Doyle were nowhere to be seen in the studio.

The hosting duo, who many ITV viewers are now championing as 'dream team' for the daytime programme going forward, are in the middle of their second week presenting together, as bosses look to settle on a full time replacement for Phillip Schofield, who Holly fronted This Morning with for over a decade, before his controversial exit in May.

After a rather bizarre start to Monday's episode when Craig declared he 'shouldn't have been allowed to be on live ITV' due to the new Buck super moon, the show also had a very different start to proceedings 24 hours later. If they hadn't already glanced at the calendar before cameras started rolling at 10am, viewers at home were quickly reminded that the date was July 4th, as an American themed cheerleader performance kicked things off.

As a dancer remix of Miley Cyrus hit Party in the USA blasted out around the studio,. the dancers performed some slick moves, complete with obligatory pom-poms, before Holly and Craig were finally emerged behind the pom-poms as the routine came to an end.

After their later than expected entrance, the hosts cracked on with a packed show, starting with a look at the day's big new stories, which included the announcement that Byker Grove is coming back, as Holly joked that she hoped it would lead to a resurrection of PJ and Duncan's music career.
