This Morning's Holly and Phillip 'break' rule as caller hangs up thinking she was being scammed

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield abandoned This Morning rules on Thursday, as a game of Spin to Win went awry when the caller hung up, thinking she was being scammed.

After both took a significant amount of time off last month, with Holly off longer than expected due to her Easter break and then contracting shingles and Phillip off for three weeks, the pair have been back together for the last two and on Thursday, they once again fronted a round of This Morning's daily game show.

Spin to Win has a habit of being unpredictable at the best of times, often verging on the chaotic, as those viewers who've entered to take part, fail to give the correct catchphrase when speaking to Phillip or Holly or just don't answer at all.

The hosts did managed to establish contact with the final caller of the day on Thursday, a lady named Susan, but then the call was promptly ended before she could actually play the game. Fully aware that time was getting on and she and Phillip still had the last 15 minutes of the live broadcast to squeeze in, Holly decided to move things along by ripping up the rule book and urging Phillip to spin the wheel on Susan's behalf.

After going along with Holly's suggestion, Phillip urged producers to try and get b ack in touch with Susan, as he then spun the wheel and won her £1,000.

Susan was then heard back on the line, telling the hosts: "I thought it was a cold call so I was like 'no, I'm busy!'" prompting Phillip to shout: "You hung up on us!!"

He added: "It's no scam, let me tell you. You've got £1,000, we'll thrown in the bag of shizzle and well done," as Holly quipped: "Now you can hang up!"
