Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield started This Morning on a sombre note as they paid tribute to a colleague who has sadly passed away.
The presenting duo announced the sad news of Charlie Hart's passing at the top of Wednesday morning show.
Charlie had worked at ITV for over 10 years but lost his battle with a long-term illness on Tuesday.
Phillip began: "We're starting with some very sad news about a member of our team here."
Holly then continued: "One of our long-standing crew members Charlie Hart passed away yesterday after battling a long-term illness.
"Charlie spent more than 10 years with us at ITV, and it wasn't just behind the cameras he played an important role."
The show then aired a series of clips showing Charlie in a rare position on-screen - including when he appeared on the This Morning runway as a model during a fashion segment.
"Such a lovely guy and we all really miss him," Phillip continued.
"Our thoughts are with his family, all of his children and grandchildren and with his wife Tina."
Holly then ended on the touching note: "We just want you to know he will be sorely missed, that's for sure."
This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV at 10.30am.
