This Morning's Holly and Phil CUT from show's social media amid ongoing drama

This Morning's Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby have disappeared from the show's social media following the fallout from the ongoing behind-the-scenes drama.

Phil, 61, sensationally stepped down from his post on Saturday afternoon, telling fans that he quit "in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future."

His departure came as he and Holly, 42, have been intensely scrutinised in the last few weeks with rumours of fallouts and disagreements.

It was also recently confirmed Holly would be taking an early break for the May Bank Holiday week and half-term following Phil's exit.

With Phil gone and Holly on holiday, the duo have disappeared from This Morning's social media.

On Tuesday, the ITV programme took to its official page to share a post featuring presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

They shared a couple of photos of the fan-favourite duo transitioning onto the screen as they encouraged people to vote for the show for the National Television Awards.

"Voting now open," they wrote before guiding followers to a link on the page.

Phil and Holly weren't featured on the post, which was also shared on Alison's page.

It comes as it was announced both Phil and Holly were among 50 names longlisted for the NTA presenter prize, alongside their fellow This Morning presenters Alison, Dermot and Rylan Clark.

In a statement released over the weekend, Phil confirmed he was quitting the show with immediate effect.

"I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story. Throughout my career in TV – including the difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind," he said.

"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love. So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect, in the hope that the show can move forward to a bright future."

He concluded his statement by confirming he'd be back on TV in a few weeks' time, adding: "I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me – especially This Morning’s amazing viewers – and I’ll see you all for the Soap Awards next month."
