This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary confirmed the hosting shake up on the ITV show as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby take a break.
Given that the daytime programme's usual hosts fronted Dancing on Ice on Sunday night, many viewers assumed that they'd be on This Morning on Monday, but that wasn't to be the case as Dermot and his Friday presenting partner in crime Alison Hammond took charge.
Despite the fact that neither Phillip or Holly have barely been on This Morning over the last few weeks, with Phillip off for more than a week after testing positive for coronavirus and Holly missing in action for over two due to filming a new series for the BBC; they are taking time off for half term and won't be back on the show until February 21.

Dermot and Alison are stepping up to take over as main hosts, with Dermot excited to get started on Monday morning.
Taking to Instagram to share a photo of him behind the scenes, the former X Factor presenter wrote: Happy half term! @alisonhammond55 and I are with you all week and on today’s @thismorning show we’ve got @maskedsingeruk winner. , @martipellowofficial and lots more.

While Dermot was delighted to be getting a run as main co-host, not all This Morning viewers were quite so enamoured with the change in presenter personnel.
During the show, one unimpressed Twitter user ranted: "I can’t stand Alison and Dermot!" with another critic writing: "Yes please send Dermot and Alison on a trip together....Preferably to Mars!"
Others said that, while they like them individually, Alison and Dermot didn't work well together, but others welcomed them being given a week long stint as hosts.
One fan enthused: "I like Alison and Dermot together, nothing snobby about them, just down to earth unlike the other two usual presenters, who are hardly ever there," with another posting: "I love Dermot and Alison on This Morning. They are a great pair"
