On his first day back as This Morning host, Craig Doyle sparked calls from viewers to have him as a permanent fixture on the ITV show, in place of Phillip Schofoeld.
Former Holiday presenter Craig, who has often fronted competitions on the daytime programme, first got a shot at being at the helm of This Morning earlier this year, when he took the reins on Bank Holiday with Alison Hammond. Earlier this month it was confirmed that the Irishman would be one of a number of presenters who'd be stepping in for the summer holidays, with Ruth Langsford, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay and Josie Gibson also lined up to appear as Phillip and regular co-host Holly Willoughby continue their extended break.
It was former Big Brother winner Josie who Craig appeared alongside on Monday, with her offering an update on son Reggie after he was taken into hospital with a arm injury last week and the presenters interviewing actor Daniel Mays. And, just like when he hosted a few months ago, Craig received a very favourable reaction from people watching ITV at home, with some even saying producers 'needed' to have him on all the time instead of Phillip.

One took to Twitter to post: "Craig Doyle needs to replace Smugfield...he's so refreshing," with another, making the same call as they tweeted: "Please please can Craig Doyle replace Schofield on a permanent basis he's a natural!"
Praising not just Craig, but his new presenting partner in crime Josie as well, another suggested This Morning bosses needed to have a 'shake up,' writing: "“Craig & Josie are so natural & relatable, so much better than Phil & Holly. Time for a presenter shake-up permanently?
Josie referenced the fact she and Craig are most regularly seen doing competitions at the start of the show, saying: “We’re usually in charge of giving the money away,” Josie said. “We’ve been given the driver’s seat, we just need to hope we don’t crash the car.”
