There was awkward start to Friday's This Morning when Alison Hammond stopped in her tracks as she started to make an announcement on her new career move.
After she hosted the Bank Holiday Monday edition of the ITV daytime show alongside unexpected co-host Craig Doyle, Alison was back with her usual presenting partner in crime Dermot O'Leary to round off another week in the studio. But things got off to a bizarre start when, after Alison and Dermot and studio guest Doctor Scott danced into shot to the sounds of Michael Gray's The Weekend, Alison began talking bout book she had coming out.
But, no sooner had she started to tease details of a project she was clearly very excited about, she stopped and changed the subject. Standing next to Dermot, Alison started: "I've done something fun," before backtracking and saying: "I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it," before lowering her voice and adding: "Basically, I've got a book coming out."

Dermot then responded: "Very exciting. We're not allowed to talk it but it's very exciting and very important," to which Alison replied: "Just go on my Grams (Instagram) and you'll find out ALL about it."
The information on Alison's new book, Black in Time, is indeed on her Instagram grid. Posting a picture of the cover, the presenter wrote: "introducing my new children’s book, BLACK IN TIME! From sports people to scientists, activists to musicians, politicians to writers, we're going to meet a whole bunch of AWESOME Black people who have helped shape the world we live in."
Teasing some of the stars involved, Alison mentioned the likes of Nicola dams, Andi Peters, Jermaine Jenas and Malorie Blackman, before adding: "Are ready for your journey Black in time?? Course you are."
