This Morning's Alison Hammond looks trimmer than ever as she poses in silk suit backstage

Alison Hammond looks happy and healthy in some new snaps shared on Monday [October 17].

The This Morning presenter, 47, took to her Instagram Stories to repost some pictures of herself showing off her slimmed-down figure as she posed backstage at the ITV show, after recently losing weight thanks to changing her lifestyle following a pre-diabetic condition diagnosis in 2020.

Beaming as she posed for some snaps taken by her makeup artist, Alison looked stunning as she wore a gorgeous green and cream silk trouser suit - completing her outfit with a pair of nude court shoes, a silver watch and hoop earrings.

The BAFTA-nominated TV star - who narrowly missed out on the Best Presenter award at the NTAs last week - posed with her hands on hip for one of the stunning pictures, flashing a smile as she showed off her makeup and stylish outfit.

After the heartbreaking death of her mother in February 2020 following a battle with liver and lung cancer, Alison was inspired to change her eating habits due to doctors diagnosing the star with a pre-diabetic condition in the same year.

"I've never had health issues until then," she explained. "It scared me because my mum had diabetes and I want to be there for my son."

Discussing her diagnosis with This Morning viewers, Alison confessed: "I need to change my ways, and need your help and that includes you guys if you see me out there with chocolates, sweets, please I'm begging you I'm not allowed to have it. I have to change my ways. I'm being serious.

"I wanted you to know, I think you know what, there are a lot of people who are pre-diabetic and I have the chance to turn it around."

Earlier this year, Alison opened up about her relationship with her body during a candid discussion about obesity on an episode of This Morning in March.

Becoming visibly emotional as she responded to a phone-in advice question from a viewer, the much-loved star explained: "I’ve had obesity all my life and what it is is your regulation system is out of whack.

"So obviously, you can’t control wanting to eat all the time. A lot of people don’t realise that obesity is a disease."

Alison continued to say: "People look down on people just because they’re so big and they can’t actually help it when you’ve got a disease.

"Sorry, it really touches me,” she added. "It’s so hard... people don’t realise."

Following Alison's emotional appearance on the ITV show, the former Big Brother contestant was supported by fans online and her co-host Dermot O'Leary, who took to Instagram to say how proud he was of his colleague for opening up about her lived experience on-air.
