Alison Hammond took a moment to remember her late mum on Friday's This Morning, after being reminded of her passing during a discussion about Friday 13th.
While to many people, it is just another date in the calendar, for the more superstitious, the mere mention of Friday 13th is enough to cause panic and Alison and co-host Dermot O'Leary were quick to reference the date as they kicked off the final This Morning of the week with a rather chaotic opening that saw guest Dermot scauld Gyles Brandreth for putting an umbrella up in the studio and wearing a jumper with a black cat on; before throwing some spilled salt over his shoulder and having a go at Alison for putting new shoes on the table in front of them.
Alison then delivered the bad news to viewers than there are in fact two Friday 13ths this year, with the second coming in October. The subject was then raised again as Alison and Dermot were joined in the studio by well known therapists Nik and Eva Speakman, to take calls from viewers who shared their Friday 13th concerns.

The Speakmans aimed to 'banish' their superstitions, with Eva urging one caller to keep a diary of good things and ad things that happen in there life and note how many didn't actually happen on the 13th.
It was after all the talk of the 13th that Alison, who want to be full time This Morning host, suddenly remembered her mum, saying: "Do you know what? It's just reminded me. It's the 13th of January today isn't it? It's the day my mum passed away, in bed 13 and we buried her on February 13. It's just literally come to me."
She added: "And we did it on the 13th because I just thought 'why not?' so I don't associate it with anything bad, it was a lovely funeral."
As Alison apologised for interruption, Dermot put his hand on hers in a gesture of support, with her reassuring him she was OK.
