This Morning's Alison Hammond 'mistaken' for council worker on Tuesday's show

Alison Hammond was 'mistaken' for a bin man on today's This Morning.

The presenter was wearing a brightly coloured sleeveless jacket over a long sleeved black top. Alison and co-host Dermot O'Leary welcomed viewers back to the ITV morning talk show, before Alison angrily asked him: "Can you believe what Ranvir just said about me? She said that I look like I'm wearing a high viz jacket."

She looked at the jacket as she said: "This is not high viz it's just an I would say coral jacket." Dermot replied: "I didn't get the memo."

He added: "I didn't know we were moonlighting and doing that bin round later on so...." He pulled out a bright pink safety jacket and put it on as Alison burst out laughing.

She said: "Oh no! Are you saying we look like bin men?" Dermot replied: "Or stewards, yeah." Alison added: "Oh, I'm devastated. I've really messed up. I'm going to have to tell David to go and get me another top."

The presenters laughed it off as they continued to announce what was coming up on the show. But fans on Twitter couldn't help making their own jokes about the host's choice of clothing.

Steve said: "#ThisMorning Normally Alison looks stunning, but today with that orange vest thing, it looks like she is a council worker ready to collect the bins! Sorry, but true"

Noreen said: "Is Alison going to be fixing motorways later? #thismorning". Meanwhile, Marjorie said: "Alison’s off to fix some potholes later in her hi-viz… #ThisMorning"
