This Morning's Alison Hammond in hysterics as she makes epic blunder on ITV show

This Morning's Alison Hammond suffered an epic blunder as she stepped in for Phillip Schofield on the ITV show today.

Alison usually presents the programme on Friday, but she joined Rochelle Humes on the sofa today as usual host Phillip was unable to come to the studio after testing positive for Covid.

Phillip joined the show briefly today from home, insisting he was mainly well, with a little bit of a fever but no sore throat or sneezing. However, self-isolation rules mean he is unable to come into work and thus had to be replaced.

However, it didn't go too great for Alison as she made an almighty slip-up half way through today's show.

Following on from a soap segment, Alison admitted it was "all going on" in soap land, as she then went to cross over to another part of the show - but she mistakenly thought they were finding out the weather next.

"Anyway listen, it's time for your weather forecast, here it is," she said as she gestured towards the screen, expecting for someone to replace her and Rochelle and talk about what we can expect from the next few days.

However, she was forced to retract her comment as she added: "I think it's coming very soon."

Rochelle then interrupted to say: "You've got a few more seconds, you've got 10 seconds to fill," as Alison, Rochelle and soaps expert Sharon Marshall desperately tried to fill in the time left.

After 10 seconds was up, Alison then went to introduce the weather again, but Rochelle cut in and told viewers at home, "We will be back after a quick break," as they both fell onto each other, bursting out in hysterics.

When the show returned after the break, the pair had managed to compose themselves as they got on with the show.

It comes after Phillip joined the duo from home to open the show as a trio - and Alison couldn't help making a savage dig at him.

Welcoming viewers to the show, Rochelle said: "Hello and welcome to Tuesday's This Morning and hello you!"

Rochelle then went on to admit it was "a little bit unfortunate" as Phillip was unable to make the show after testing positive for Covid, as Alison added: "Poor Phil can't be in the studio today - but don't worry he might be at home but he can be with us right now."
