Alison Hammond looked on with upset as pictures of distraught Neighbours' cast members appeared on screen on Monday's This Morning, in the aftermath of the news the long-running soap is being axed from UK TV.
Shofckwaves were sent across the globe on Saturday night when it was reported that the much loved Aussie show faced an uncertain future.
The speculation about Neighbours getting the chop led to an outpouring of support for the soap, which made its debut back in 1985, as viewers in many different countries voiced their upset and surprise.
Hours later, Channel 5, the broadcaster who air the programme in the UK, confirmed it would be pulling the plug on Neighbours later this year to focus on UK based shows.

A spokesperson said: "Neighbours will no longer air on Channel 5 beyond this summer.
"It has been a much-loved part of our schedule for more than a decade, and we'd like to thank the cast, Fremantle and all of the production team for their fantastic work on this iconic series.
"We'd also of course like to thank the fans for their loyal support of Neighbours across the years."
The scrapping of Neighbours was a big talking point on the first This Morning episode of the week with Alison admitting she was devastated at the news it was ending.
Alison and co-host Holly Willoughby were joined via video call by soap expert Sharon Marshall, with Alison saying how gutted she was for the cast, as pictures of them leaving the set flashed up on screen.
Alison commented: "The cast will be absolutely devastated as well. We're seeing photographs of the cast looking really upset. What's been the feeling there?"
Sharon replied: "it's not just the cast, it's everyone behind the scenes. I mean guys you made Susan Kennedy cry - that's not allowed, it's illegal."
Addressing the photos, Sharon continued: "What I noticed there is that people were coming out holding scripts. They're having to continue working.
"It's all going to be very sudden. We work so far ahead in soaps as well, so to be suddenly told we're going to stop filming in June.
"It means that scripts are going to have to bee torn apart, stories stopped midway through. What do you do?!"
Later on in Monday's This Morning, Alison and Holly read out messages from viewers who shared their most memorable Neighbours moments including Toadie and Dee's car plunging into the sea after their wedding and the transformation of 'Plain Jane.'
