Alison Hammond was left seriously eating her words live on air as a past remark she made to Ant and Dec about Saturday Night Takeaway came back to haunt her live on This Morning.
After nearly a year away and hot on the hells of the second series of their gameshow Limitless Win, Ant and Dec are back with the first new episode of Takeaway on Saturday night and unbeknown to her at the time, Alison is their first Undercover victim of 2023. The Undercover pranks, which left Jeremy Clarkson swearing in anger last year, see the Geordie hosts stage an elaborate and very convincing scenario for their chosen victim to become involved in, only for things to take a turn and them to reveal themselves as the orchestrators right at the end.,
The lads' prank at Alison's expense sees the popular presenter made to stay in a 'haunted' hotel, with Ant and Dec's plans very nearly falling at the first hurdle, after Alison seemed reluctant to even go into the premises after being scared by its exterior.

Alison was forced to watch a preview clip of her on Takeaway as she and This Morning co-host Dermot O'Leary took over Ant and Dec[s studio for a segment of Friday's show, which saw them sit down and chat with the former Byker Grove stars. And it was during the chat that Dermot brought up something Alison said to Ant and Dec at this time last year, when they were discussing the Undercover pranks they had in store for 2022.
She asked them which celeb they would love to rank on Undercover, with Ant replying: "Now that you've said that...Alison Hammond." Rather cocky in her response, Alison told Ant and Dec: "No genuinely, you would never ever get me, 'cos I'm on things like that."
Ant quipped that 'the gauntlet had been thrown down' and he and Dec clearly took Alison's boast as a challenge as they now have her on their growing list of Undercover victims.
Trying to wriggle out of her past remark, a laughing Alison said: "In my defence, I had been working all day long that day, so I was tired. By the time I got to the hotel I just wanted to go to sleep," before conceding: "Genuinely, I was really scared."
The Saturday Night Takeaway series launch show will air on ITV! at 7pm on February 25.
