This Morning's Alison Hammond delighted as ITV show gets another new host

Alison Hammond expressed her delight at welcoming another new host to the This Morning family, within seconds of cameras rolling on Friday's show.

The This Morning studio has been something of a revolving door for presenters in recent weeks, with both Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield off for extended periods.

While still on Dancing on Ice every Sunday, Holly was missing in action from This Morning for over two weeks while filming a new series for the BBC in Italy.

There was then another hosting headache for bosses of the ITV daytime show to contend with when Phillip tested positive for Covid and was forced into isolation.

During his unexpected absence, Alison, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Dermot O'Leary, Josie Gibson and eventually Holly, when she made her return, all presented in various different combinations of hosts.

And, as she and Dermot ended their week in charge of This Morning, with Holly and Phillip off again, Alison was ecstatic at introducing another newcomer to the studio - cookery host Philli Armitage-Mattin.

As the camera panned over to MasterChef Professionals star Philli, she said: "I'm so excited to cook for you!" before going onto promise that she would be making, in her words, "the most delicious salmon," using her secret ingredient flavour.

She ended: "I'm going to be sharing everything with you later," as both Alison and Dermot admitted they were excited at what was in store.

Philli teased her This Morning debut with a shot of her in the make up chair behind the scenes, which she captioned: "And we're ready to cook on This Morning."
