This Morning's Alison Hammond cringes after failing to recognise one of the guests

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond was mortified after she failed to recognise one of the guests.

On Tuesday's episode of the ITV show, Alison and her co-star Dermot O'Leary brought some chaos to our screens with their bubbly personalities.

One segment had the show bring in Trinny Woodall to provide three viewers with an incredible makeover.

The makeover included fresh new make-up, stylish clothes and a new hairstyle.

Trinny had the help from hair and makeup teams to finish the transformation.

While the fashion expert got to work backstage, Dermot and Alison quickly checked in on her.

Alison was confused after noticing a man standing next to Trinny during the chat and asked: "Who's that man?"

Dermot had to remind her that the man is, in fact, Josh - who is part of the fashion expert's glam squad.

"That's Josh. Josh does the hair, doesn't he?" Dermot said before Alison added: "Oh, right. I didn't realise. Hi, Josh!"

Alison was immediately mortified as she turned to Dermot and said: "That was awks," while grabbing his arm.

Meanwhile, Alison has been feeling the effects of hayfever as Spring arrived in the country.

In a recent episode of This Morning, she told Dermot that she had started to fight the seasonal allergy which affects millions.

Despite her struggles, the 48-year-old put on a brave face as she told viewers at home that she would continue to plough through her presenting duties.

Alison recently talked about dealing with hayfever (itv)

As the pair kicked off the show on Friday, Alison was asked how she was feeling and responded: "Argh, hay fever kicks in today, is anyone else at home feeling that hay fever fire ?

"I think it's tree pollen – apparently, so yeah, I've got a lot of hay fever going on but we're going to get through this together."

Alison went on to explain to O'Leary that she woke up and instantly felt "different", before adding: "You know, hay fever, runny eyes, the nose thing, I don't feel too well."

It comes as the star, who found fame on Big Brother, and Dermot were drafted in to replace Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby while they take Easter breaks.
