This Morning's Alison Hammond confirms fresh host shake-up for ITV show as two stars absent

Alison Hammond has announced another hosting shake-up on This Morning, with two stars' absences confirmed, as she and Dermot O'Leary step up to replace them.

For the second week in succession, former Big Brother contestant Alison had some big news to break to viewers right before credits. At the end of last Friday's show, the newly confirmed host of The Great British Bake Off, revealed that she would be 'back to host on Monday,' in a move that surprised fans, before it was made public that it would be Phillip Schofield she was standing in for.

Phillip ended up being missing in action from the This Morning studio for a whole week and it's now been made clear that he won't be back on hosting duties for a while yet. And he won't be the only one missing as his presenting partner in crime Holly Willoughby is also taking some time off.

Their prolonged absence became apparent to viewers when Alison confirmed that, after she and Dermot took the reins on Friday, that they'd be back for a whole week from Monday.

Alison doing a full week with Dermot, as some viewers championed her partnership with Holly, after the pair hosted together on Monday and Tuesday off this week. Backing the double act to be given another chance, one tweeted: "I actually enjoyed Alison alongside Holly today, it would seem this a perfect partnership and Alison much better than with Dermot.."

However, clearly wanting more of Alison and Dermot, another tweeted: "Delighted to turn over and see it's Dermot and Alison."
