Alison Hammond has broken a social media silence since Phillip Schofield's exit.
The This Morning presenter hasn't shared a post on the Instagram grid since the veteran broadcaster quit ITV's flagship daytime programme last weekend. However, Alison bucked the trend today to mark a special day for another This Morning star.
Alison's traditional co-host is Dermot O'Leary and she took to social media to send a heartfelt message to him on his 50th birthday. She said: "Happy birthday babs !! Many happy returns my lovely. Have the best day."

Dermot had the day off today as Alison hosted This Morning alongside Craig Doyle. They issued a tribute to Dermot on air and fans were taken aback by the host's real age.
Jo said: "I can’t believe Derms is 50", while Sammy said: "I can't believe he's 50. Looks more like 40". Danielle said: "Bloody hell! You look amazing for 50."
Alison and Dermot hosted the first two episodes of This Morning since Phil dramatically stood down on Saturday. The 61-year-old has quit amid reports an alleged feud with Holly Willoughby had reached fever pitch.
Alison and Dermot started Monday's episode with a tribute to their former co-star. The former Big Brother contestant said: "Now we can't start today's show without paying tribute to the man who spent the last two decades sitting on the This Morning sofa, Phillip Schofield."
She continued: "Quite simply, we all know he's one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had. We, and all the team, wish him all the best for the future."
Dermot stepped in and said: "So, as a show, everyone on and offscreen at ITV and This Morning want to say a huge thank you to Phil for what he's done to make the show such a success over the last 21 years."
