This Morning's Alison Hammond breaks news of host shake-up as Phillip and Holly remain absent

Alison Hammond divided viewers after breaking news of another presenter shake-up as Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby remain absent from the show.

As permanent hosts Phillip and Holly take a break for Easter, Alison has been hosting the ITV daytime programme alongside Dermot O'Leary. The pair, who usually present This Morning on Fridays, have had a fun-filled week at the helm, other viewers have been torn on whether they were the right duo to fill the vacancy.

Friday's episode saw them chat to the stars of hit BBC drama The Split and be entertained by 80s music icons ABC after interviewing frontman Martin Fry. The closing segment of the show saw Alison and Dermot joined by a makeup artist for a Bridgerton beauty masterclass.

And, as that came to an end and the presenters got ready to hand over to Loose Women, Alison announced that it wouldn't be her and Dermot hosting the show next week, but Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay. She told viewers at home: "Well Josie and Vernon are here on Monday, when they'll be joined by design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

After Dermot teased what else was coming up, Alison rather confusingly added: "See you Monday," as viewers took to Twitter to voice their thoughts on Josie and Vernon getting another chance to host together. One reacted: "Vernon Yay, Josie Nay!" A second tweeted: "But we won't see you Monday Alison after you just said its Vernon and Josie presenting."

The news came minutes after one fan posted: "Can we have Vernon & Josie next week please?" While it won't be Alison and Dermot hosting on Monday, they will be on This Morning next week when they host the show o Good Friday. They will also do the honours on Easter Monday, before Phillip and Holly return on April 19.
