This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary to continue as hosts as Holly still absent

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary made a very telling remark at the end of Friday' show, to confirm that the two presenters would be continuing as the show's main hosts for the time being.

The past few weeks have been eventful to say the least for the ITV daytime programme; firstly it was blighted of rumours of a rift between Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, something Phillip tried to shut down by declaring Holly has been his 'rock,'. And then, just days after as bookies predicted that Phillip would leave This Morning by the end of the week, Phillip did just that, taking to Instagram to confirm his departure, which saw him acknowledge that This Morning had 'become the story' and go onto say that he hopes the show will move onto a 'bright future.'

As soon as Phillip's This Morning exit was confirmed, odds appeared on who would replace him, with Dermot the early favourite by some stretch, before current hot tip Alison replaced him as bookies changed their odds.

The duo have been at the helm of This Morning for all of this week and, as they wrapped up their fifth and final show, Alison announced that she and Dermot would be back on Monday, telling viewers at home: "We are back on Bank Holiday with Phil Vickery. He's got two dishes as well," before Dermot teased some more guests and Alison added: "See you then!"

On the same day that Phillip revealed he was leaving This Morning, ITV broke the news that Holly would be beginning her half term holiday a week earlier than planned. She is due back to host the show on Monday, June 5.
