This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary forced to apologise for co-host swearing live on-air

This Morning's Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond were forced to stop the show during today's (June 2) episode to issue an apology over a co-host's behaviour. It came after ITV star Josie Gibson accidentally let out a swear word yesterday (June 1) while on a rollercoaster at the Blackgang Chine theme park on the Isle of Wight.

The remark slipped out live on-air as she was panicking, trying to list as many dinosaurs as she could during her time on the ride. It quickly became apparent the Big Brother legend isn't very well versed in all things dinosaur, as she was only able to list Barney The Dinosaur.

Alison and Dermot then feared she was going to be sick as she begged staff to bring the ride to a halt. But out of distress, she swore. "Oh my goodness I'm going to be sick! Stop the ride! F****** hell," she screamed, before covering her mouth.

The blunder didn't go unnoticed by viewers at the time, as many headed to Twitter to react. MrsMaryOB tweeted: "Did Josie just drop the f word haha love it #thismorning." Johnlennonsboot laughed: "Josie dropping the f bomb has made my day #ThisMorning.

However, it would seem Dermot and Alison didn't hear what she said as they continued the show like usual straight after. But today, they made sure to address the mistake and apologised for her language - and for not mentioning it when it happened.

Alison told viewers: "Now if you watched the show yesterday you might have noticed that Josie, after being pushed to the limit and almost being sick on the Isle of Wight theme park ride... accidentally let slip a rude word.

"We didn't hear it did we?" Dermot added: "She apologised yesterday. We didn't even hear it and we'd just like to apologise as well for any offense it may have caused."

Alison continued: "We're apologising that we didn't hear the situation ... she was under stress." Dermot made it clear they were apologising for the swearing and for missing it.
