TV host Alison Hammond has said she has never trusted men after growing up without her dad.
Her late father Clifford split from her mum Maria, and it made Hammond strive to “be in charge” in relationships.
But the ITV This Morning presenter told Big Issue magazine she is trying to be “more trusting”.

The 47-year-old said: “The fact I didn’t have my father in my life shaped the way it’s gone.
“And it shaped the way I interact with men in relationships. I always want to be in charge. I don’t trust men because my dad wasn’t ever there. I’m working on that now in my forties. I’m more trusting.”
Hammond revealed last week that she was in a relationship. Her co-host Dermot O’Leary, 49, let slip on the show that she was “taken”, reports The Sun.
Alison said: “Can you believe Dermot outed me on the TV? I’m a little bit disappointed to be honest with you as I can’t flirt with no one else now.
“He’s a lovely man and all I can say is that I’ve had him hidden for a year and a half. A year and a half I’ve been with him, and no one knew! He loves me to bits. He absolutely worships me and massages my feet every single day. What more do you want?!”
