This Morning Phillip Schofield's replacement says 'see you' as Holly Willoughby lets slip telling clue

Phillip Schofield's replacement sent a message to fans as Holly Willoughby shared a telling clue.

The mum-of-three returned to ITV's flagship daytime programme for the first time since her usual co-host quit ITV. Mr Schofield stepped away from the channel after he admitted having an affair with a younger male colleague.

Holly was tearful on her return as she admitted it was "strange" to appear on the show without her traditional TV partner. She said: "Shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on and full of questions.

"You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves thought they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process."

Holly said the This Morning family are now looking to unite as ITV's flagship daytime programme enters a new chapter. She added: "Myself, Josie, Dermot, Alison and Craig and every single person that works on this show will continue to work hard every day to bring you a show that we love."

Holly hosted the show alongside Josie Gibson, who has become one of the show's most popular figures. Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary are also show mainstays and present Friday's edition of the programme.

In what could be a telling hint about the show's future, Holly also mentioned Craig Doyle who first appeared on the show in 2021. Holly namechecking Craig could be a sign that he is set to take on a more key role in This Morning post Phillip Schofield.

Craig took to Instagram yesterday to send a message to fans as he confirmed he would be presenting alongside Holly on Wednesday. The 52-year-old said: "Delighted to join the wonderful Holly on the sofa later this week.

"The show has been a joy to work on with one of the hardest working & talented teams I know. See you Wednesday."
