Viewers of This Morning have been left scratching their heads after one of the show’s regular presenters, Craig Doyle, seemed to vanish without any explanation. The Easter break brought some expected shake-ups to the hosting lineup, but fans have noticed something off — and they’re not staying quiet about it.
With Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard off during the holiday period, familiar faces like Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond stepped in. Dermot was also joined by Sian Welby earlier in the week. Then came another switch-up: Alison told viewers that Josie Gibson and Andi Peters would be presenting on Easter Monday, according to Belfast Live.
Dermot added that Will Best would be dropping by with Celebrity Big Brother gossip. But while ITV was promoting who is on the show, fans were more concerned about who wasn’t — Craig Doyle.
Social media quickly lit up with speculation. One user posted, “Andi on Monday? Have they secretly got rid of Craig?” Another added, “Wonder what’s happened to Craig.” It’s clear his absence hasn’t gone unnoticed, especially since Craig usually shares the sofa with Josie when the main presenters are off.
Craig has been a staple of This Morning since 2021. He started out doing competition segments before moving up to co-host with the likes of Alison, Holly Willoughby, and Rochelle Humes. Many viewers have grown fond of his easygoing charm, making his sudden disappearance all the more surprising.
Outside of This Morning, Craig’s had a long and respected career, from sports coverage on RTE and major events on BBC and ITV, to even presenting quiz shows like The Colour of Money. And of course, many will remember him from the Everest Windows ads.
When he’s not on screen, Craig lives a quieter life in County Wicklow with his wife Doon and their four children. He often shares little mentions of his family life on air, though Doon prefers to stay out of the spotlight. She previously worked as an interior designer but now focuses on raising their kids — Elsa, Milo, Muireann, and Quinn.
As of now, there’s been no official word from ITV or Craig about his current status on the show. So, while fans are hoping his absence is just temporary, the silence is only fuelling the rumours.
