This Morning fans threaten to 'stop watching' unless one star replaces Phillip Schofield

This Morning fans have signalled that they are growing sick of the revolving door of presenters helping Holly Willoughby co-host the show - and have singled out a favourite they want to feature full time.

Not content with simply explaining who their favourite occasional presenter is, the more passionate fans of the ITV daytime magazine show have threatened to boycott the show if their preferred presenter is not installed full time.

The long-running show has been in turmoil in recent months following the explosive collapse of Phillip Schofield’s career.

As a consequence, 42-year-old Holly has been helming the show with a changing line-up of co-hosts - including Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson.

However, it is charming 52-year-old Irish presenter Craig Doyle who has attracted the strongest - and most unhinged - support.

A raft of ITV daytime viewers have taken to social media to demand that bosses hire Craig full time to co-host alongside Holly.

One wrote online: “Craig Doyle needs to be made permanent host of this morning. He fits in so well.”

And another commented: "Craig is in one of his naughty moods. Love it. Make him permanent please.”

While other viewers took their opinions to an extreme level - threatening to boycott the show if Craig is not made a permanent host.

One fan warned: "tbh I'll probably stop watching if they lose Craig" - with another tweeting: "@thismorning me and my mother will boycott this morning if craig Doyle doesn’t get the job. Easy on the eyes. #ThisMorning."

Holly and disgraced former co-star Phil traditionally hosted This Morning on Mondays to Thursdays - while 50-year-old Dermot and 48-year-old Alison Hammond helm the show on Fridays.

Since 61-year-old Phil’s explosive exit from the show back in May - quitting the show due to a behind-the-scenes affair with a much younger male colleague - Holly has hosted the show with various other presenters.

It is still unclear when ITV will make a decision as to the permanent co-host of the show - with some speculating the full-time replacement won’t begin until after the summer recess.

Last month, ITV shared an update as fans began to demand to know who would be replacing Phil full time.

A spokesperson for the network said back at the beginning of June that they would make further announcements on future presenters of the show "in due course".

They added: “In the meantime, we will draw on the This Morning family for presenters to co-present with Holly.”

Meanwhile, Phil's career appears to be completely over - as it imploded when he confessed he had conducted an affair and then lied about it.

His management team claimed that he had lied to them about the affair, and they dropped him as a client.

While Phil also claimed that Holly herself had been completely oblivious about the affair he had been conducing with a This Morning staff member and told an interviewer that he had lied to her about it too.
