This Morning fans think iconic guests looked 'completely different' after 50 years

Iconic guests made a special appearance on Friday's This Morning but fans didn't like their "new look".

Hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary opened up the ITV show in a very different way to usual. The Wombles of Wimbledon theme song played as the presenters entered the studio, linking arms with the special guests.

They danced around with a Womble on each arm. The pointy nosed animals looked more modern than normal, with one dressed in a pink t-shirt and the other in a red hat and scarf.

Viewers weren't impressed with the new "cleaner" look, as Wombles normally look a bit more dishevelled. Posting to Twitter, they shared their thoughts on how the characters looked "completely different".

One user said: "Certainly didn’t look like the fluffy scruffy Wombles I remember? All too neat and clean looking #ThisMorning."

Stephanie said: "Who are these new fangled Wombles? There’s only one Uncle Bulgaria #thismorning." Andrew said: "They don't even look like the Wombles #ThisMorning."

Alison and Dermot soon revealed that the iconic TV characters had arrived in the studio for a very special reason. Marking a huge milestone the Wombles, from the 70s, were celebrating 50 years since the first TV episode.
