This Morning fans 'switch off' as Holly and Phil make announcement

Fans of This Morning "switched off" just minutes into the show today.

It comes as hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby made an announcement in the opening credits. They replayed chaotic footage showing Gino D'Acampo "taking over" the ITV set last week, as they told fans that he would be back today.

They said that viewers could expect to see him once more at midday as he returned to his cooking segment. But a lot of fan's weren't happy with the update, with some taking to Twitter to say "please no" or threaten to "switch off".

Gregory said: "Not sodding Gino again. Please for the love of God no. Playschool TV #thismorning". Katie said: "Anyway switching off now."

Meanwhile, Paula said: "Gino is on today. Thankfully I'm now off out #ThisMorning."

The comedic Italian chef had spent months away from the morning ITV show, but last week he returned with a bang. He appeared on the couch rather than in the kitchen to discuss his new show - Gino’s Italy: Like Mamma Used To Make.

He created chaos when Holly and Phil went to tell viewers that Gino would be in the kitchen, he stormed into shot saying; "I can do that myself!" Holly tried to continue, saying someone had let the chef 'in the studio', but Gino wanted to have his moment.

He said: "I'm going to present This Morning, that's it. You two can go in the kitchen, let me do what I do best."
