This Morning fans rush to issue same complaint as they 'switch off' show with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield

This Morning fans were left sharing a major complaint as they tuned into the latest edition of the programme. After an extra long weekend, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (May 1).

And with days to go until the King's coronation, the second This Morning of the week was packed with plenty of royal talk. They kicked off as usual with the 'This Morning's View' segment which sees the hosts discuss the latest news headlines and taking points with two of their guests.

The show's line-up then included an interview with royal photographer Chris Jackson, who is set to take photos of the royals up on the balcony this weekend when King Charles is crowned alongside Queen Consort Camilla and they make their appearances after the main ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

Clodagh McKenna was in the kitchen where she showed Holly and Phil, and special guest Richard E Grant, how to make cheesy baked eggs - reported to be one of Charles' favourite dishes - before the hosts headed off to try some specially selected English sparkling wines to accompany any parties taking place this upcoming weekend.

But it appears the Coronation-heavy content was a bit too much for some This Morning viewers who flocked to social media to complain. @dollynoocat tweeted: "Jesus wept. How much time can they devote to the coronation. I am switching off for the rest of the week. Soul destroying listening to it."

@louloulock1 quipped: "Let's play a game tomorrow. We take a shot every time someone says the word coronation. That will get us through Wednesday #ThisMorning." @Samanth08478617 complained: "Talk about kill the occasion before its even happened. You are wringing the s**t out of the coronation #ThisMorning." @TraylorHolmes added: "I’m royal’d out. And it’s only Tuesday #ThisMorning #Coronation."

Royal photographer Chris Jackon was among the latest This Morning guests (ITV)

It comes ahead of a special episode of This Morning on Friday which will see the show ditch the London-based studio and head up to Greater Manchester. To celebrate the King's coronation, which takes place on Saturday (May 6), Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary will be bringing the programme to viewers live from the cobbles of Coronation Street.

Iain MacLeod, Corrie's producer said: "The whole place is buzzing about having This Morning here for the Coronation! It seems totally fitting to have daytime royalty, teaming up with soap royalty to celebrate actual royalty and we can’t wait to join Alison, Dermot and the team in raising a pint of Newton and Ridley to His Majesty in the Rovers Return."

Martin Frizell, This Morning's executive producer, added: "We've had this idea for a while now and I'm thrilled it's coming to life. Whilst we have taken This Morning to various locations throughout the years, I think to have two of ITV's biggest and longest-running shows coming together like this for a unique event to celebrate and mark such a momentous moment in history will be a huge treat for viewers and fans alike."
