This Morning fans rejoice as The Hairy Bikers reunite after cancer battle

Viewers of ITV’s This Morning were thrilled to see The Hairy Bikers - Si King and Dave Myers - at the end of Wednesday’s, April 26 show. The cooking duo joined Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in the studio to show them their take on lamb kofta.

The Bikers’ appearance was particularly welcomed as it comes following Dave Myers’ cancer battle. Ever since Dave was first diagnosed with the illness in 2022, he has regularly updated his fans on social media.

After Phillip asked Dave how he is currently doing, the 65-year-old presenter replied: “I’m doing very well. It’s work in progress but I’ve got my hair back and I’m feeling great.”

Later on, Si shared his own excitement to be reunited with Dave. He told Phillip and Holly: “I don’t like cooking on my own.” Dave added: “It’s lovely to be back. It’s like coming home.”

Over on social media, viewers shared how happy they were to see Dave back in the studio. One person wrote: “great to see Dave back on our screens, missed the guys being together, and beyond great to see you looking great, Dave.”

A second person commented: “good to see the Hairy Biker gent who had/has cancer looking well and back on tv again.” And a third wrote: “Proper cooks and good to see Dave looking so well.”

A fourth added: "Great to see him looking so well! #thismorning." And a further person said: "Aww dave is looking well."

Dave first announced that he had cancer on The Hairy Bikers’ Agony Uncles podcast. He said at the time: "I've got to come clean now, I haven't been too well recently and, basically, I've got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway, so this year is going to be a bit quiet for me, I'm not going to be filming, some of the festivals I'm not going to be able to go to, some may be OK but this year's a bit of a write-off for us.

"I have had to speak up about this because I don't want to hide under a rock, but I would love it if people respect my privacy and just let me get on with it and give Si and our team all the support they need, that would be great. But look, the prognosis is OK, I'm going to be fine. I may be a baldy biker for a while so it's just a warning, I don't want to make a fuss about it, I look alright bald actually."
