This Morning fans confused as Alison Hammond goes 'missing' during live ITV show

Alison Hammond confused fans tuning into This Morning today as she went 'missing' during the live show.

The presenter was sat at the kitchen table with her co-host Dermot O'Leary just after 11am as they revealed what was coming up on the rest of the show before crossing over to a pre-recorded promotional segment about their competition. When the show returned live once more, Dermot was sitting on the famous blue sofa - but Alison was nowhere to seen.

Confused fans took to Twitter as they puzzled over Alison's absence. Dermot continued on with the show, interviewing Ted Lasso star Phil Dunster as he chatted about his new horror series with Peter Capaldi.

Fans of the ITV show rushed to social media as they shared their confusion at Alison's disappearing act.

"Hope Alison is okay, strange how she’s come off the show #ThisMorning," one wrote, as a second added: "Was this a planned solo interview or has she disappeared somewhere? #thismorning."

Other fans said they liked the shake-up to the format, with one writing: "At last!! Separating out for solo interviews.... should do this more often. There is absolutely no reason why they should be joined at the hip for the entire show #ThisMorning."

"#ThisMorning what happened to Alison??," another concerned fan wrote, with another penning: "Where is Alison???? #ThisMorning."

When the show returned after the break, Alison was back - but there was no mention about where she had been. The presenting pair then segued into the next part of the show, as they gave viewers tips on Halloween treats.

It comes after Alison confessed she deliberately fuels rumours about her 'feud' with Dermot.

She explained: "I can’t tell you how wrong they actually are. I love the fact that people think that. I’m gonna keep that going. Go ‘babes, people think we hate each other, let’s do a couple of things on the telly like stand further apart’. Like we’re still distancing! But seriously I love the fact people think we’ve got beef, it’s hilarious. Honestly I can’t tell you how much I love that man, he’s so funny."

Last night, Alison picked up an award after she narrowly missed out on the National Television Award for Best Presenter earlier this month. She was honoured at the 2022 Ethnicity Awards and was named Best Presenter.
