This Morning doctor Sara Kayat gives birth to baby boy and introduces him on show

This Morning star Sara Kayat has confirmed she has given birth to a baby boy.

Sara introduced the little one to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on the show live on Thursday, after welcoming him 10 days early.

The doctor gave birth on Wednesday with just her husband by her side, revealing she had the baby in her bath tub.

Holly and Phil were stunned by her story, as she explained how quickly everything unfolded.

She revealed her gorgeous baby boy, named Harris Walker, is doing great.

Cradling the newborn, she relived her labour as she gave a first glimpse of her little one to This Morning viewers.

She told the hosts: "Thank you so much, I’m so so happy."

Sara added: "He was 10 days early and because he is my first, everyone was expecting him to be at least a week or so later so he took us by surprise.

"I was at home. I'd always wanted a water birth but hadn't quite expected it to be in my bath, with no midwife present.

"My poor husband had to catch the baby as he ejected out."

Holly and Phil rushed to congratulate the new mum, as she described the "overwhelming love sensation" she never knew she had in her.

On the labour, Sara admitted what she thought was muscle aches days earlier may have been contractions.

She said: "He came out at about 9:20, we had to call the ambulance to make sure with the midwife not knowing what time they would get here for.

"The ambulance arrived around 20 minutes later, and then the midwife around 20 minutes after that. We were with the babe, just us."

Sara went on: "It was fast, my first contractions were around 3, 4, 5 in the morning.

"It turns out I was probably having them for a couple of days, but I just thought it was muscular which is ridiculous as I'm a doctor.

"So it turns out I was probably in labour for a couple of days, but active labour was only two hours."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
