This Morning accused of being 'tone deaf' with Alison Hammond Dubai segment

This Morning viewers were not impressed as they tuned into Wednesday's show and saw Alison Hammond hanging out in Dubai.

Hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield introduced the pre-recorded segment as Alison in Arabia.

The clip showed the mother-of-one living the high life in sunny Dubai as she swam in an infinity pool and promoted the popular holiday destination.

However, viewers tuning in at home felt that the segment wasn't fitting - especially as money saving expert Martin Lewis had just featured on the ITV show to help people with their financial woes.

One person tweeted: "Good one #ThisMorning! People are at home unable to make ends meet so you show us your overrated presenters living it up, for free, on 5* holidays . Start reading the room, hey?"

Another said: "Can they not go to nice places in around the UK? This is getting people really annoyed [sic] keep harping on about living Crisis and then sending presenters on mega holidays that a lot of us can't afford. #ThisMorning."

A third person fumed: "This show sending people on holidays that most of us can’t afford is TONE DEAF #ThisMorning."

And a fourth viewer added: "This morning- deals with a 94 year old who’s been given a bill that isn’t hers to pay Also this morning- but we’ve also sent Alison to Dubai?? yeh this show really knows it’s priorities #ThisMorning."

Someone else asked: "What’s the point in doing an item telling you to only boil a kettle with enough water for one cup of tea so you can afford to pay your energy bills if the next item is Alison lapping up the luxury in Dubai? #ThisMorning."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
