Two new loading screens for Fortnite’s tenth season have leaked. These are the two final loading screens of the season, for Weeks 9 and 10.
The screens leaked this weekend thanks to dataminer Shiinabr. The first, pictured above, is for Week 9 and shows some new rather twisted, heavily armed skins. That’s Cuddle Team Leader on the left, looking much worse for wear.
But it’s the Week 10 loading screen that’s the one you should pay attention to since it contains perhaps the biggest clue yet as to what’s coming in Season 11.
In the screen we see the Battle Bus sailing off into the sunset. A number of the game’s most famous characters, like Jonesy and Drift, wave goodbye.
This, along with a bevy of other evidence, suggests that after the big season-ending event that’s coming soon, the map as we know it will be gone forever. It appears the Battle Bus itself may be replaced with something else entirely–a Battle Blimp, perhaps? Or a Battle Boat?
A new map is just what this game needs to breathe new life and energy into the community. Even with all the changes, including Rift Zones like Pandora and Gotham City, Fortnite has felt a bit stale lately. A new map will at the very least jazz up the game for Season 11.
There have also been a number of new signs popping up in the Gotham City Rift Zone that say ‘The Final Reckoning’, just another piece of evidence that something big is coming, and that it’s not just a big event but a final event.
In many ways, this entire season was a sort of “best of” playlist, cycling through old locations, rehashing character skins for the Battle Pass, and essentially paying homage to the game’s first phase. It seems incredibly likely at this point that a second phase is imminent.
I wonder what the new map will be like?
