Angela Rayner accused the Conservative government of "recklessly gambling" with our money.
The Labour deputy leader, who is currently in Liverpool for the party conference, slammed the Tories after the Pound fell to a record low against the US Dollar. New Chancellor of the Exchequer Kwasi Kwarteng introduced new plans last week, hailing "a new era" for the economy.
Income tax and the stamp duty on home purchases will be cut and planned rises in corporation taxes have been scrapped. Mr Kwarteng said the government will get rid of the top rate of income tax of 45 percent for people earning over £150,000 a year.

The government hopes the multi-billion pound plan will spark growth in the economy as the cost of living crisis deepens. But the controversial plan has been criticised as only benefitting the richest in society.
And now Ms Rayner has slammed the government following the pound's recent plummet in the markets. In a tweet this morning, Monday, September 26, Ms Rayner showed a picture of the Pound's alarming drop since the tax cut announcement.
Ms Rayner said: "This isn’t Bitcoin. It’s the British pound. The Tories are recklessly gambling - not with their own money - but all of ours."
Speaking at day one of the Labour Party conference in Liverpool on Sunday, September 25, Ms Rayner gave a scathing summary of the Tory government's recent track record. She said: "Three different leaders, a catalogue of sleaze, waste and lies. Cummings, Paterson and Pincher backed to the hilt. Chris Grayling. Grant Shapps. And too much Matt Hancock. Far too much Matt Hancock."
The deputy leader declared "Britain is at a crossroads" and questioned what the Conservative party has to offer, other than "lining the pockets of oil and gas executives".
The deputy leader concluded her speech by promising that not only do Labour have a "vision" for the country, they also have a "plan". She said: "The Conservatives have made their choice. They've chosen their side. But we are on yours and are ready to lead this country to better."
She added: "The Tories have broken Britain - but together we'll rebuild it again. And make Britain work for working people again."
