This is what Jalen Mills told Jack Jones after suspension

New England Patriots cornerback Jalen Mills had advice for Jack Jones, following the rookie fourth-round draft pick’s suspension.

Jones was reportedly suspended for being late and missing rehab sessions. There were also reports on Monday that he talked back to coach Bill Belichick.

He has not played in a game since December 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.

Mills had a productive season for New England. The veteran recorded 31 combined tackles and two interceptions in 2022. He recorded two interceptions in a four-game stretch through the first two months of the season.

Along with helping on the field, he has also proven to be a veteran leader off the field, particularly in giving Jones advice. Mills shared that advice when speaking with media members, via the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan.

“[I] told him to keep his head,” said Mills. “He’s a talented player. This organization’s going to need him. He’s still a young guy. And at the end of the day, make sure it’s a new slate, clean slate and show the guys what you got.”

The Patriots’ secondary may look a bit different next season, with Jonathan Jones, Myles Bryant, and Joejuan Williams all up for free agency. Jack Jones could be a key piece for the unit, as the team looks to build for the future.
