"I am negotiating contracts in my sleep," said prospective Rangers investor Paraag Marethe as he detailed his rise in sports management after taking over at Leeds United.
The Leeds chairman and "chief contract negotiator and salary cap architect" at the San Francisco 49ers is a key figure in the proposed takeover at Ibrox.
Marethe is a leading figure in the 49ers Enterprises group and has held talks with Rangers dating back to October over obtaining an ownership stake in the club.
The 49ers Enterprises president is vastly experienced in management given his 24 years with the NFL franchise having started out as an intern and then climbed the ladder, plus his role at Leeds in recent seasons.
And Marethe is confident he sets himself apart from other owners and chairman with his experience in negotiating contracts and overcoming ownership paperwork.
For the 49ers investment to come to fruition, Rangers shareholders would have to agree to sell and then the deal would have to be sanctioned by the Scottish FA in regards to dual ownership rules.
Marethe, it seems, would be comfortable dealing with significant negotiations and paperwork that would entail - and in his first interview at Leeds he offered insight into how he would assist with negotiations with players and agents.
Rangers have previously struggled with player trading with a number of first-team players leaving on free transfers in previous years. Should Marethe take a leadership post at Rangers then there is reason to believe he would try and tackle the issue head-on.

On the Leeds United podcast, he said: "I've been the head negotiator, I still am. I've been the president and chief exec of a team, I have built a stadium, and I have hired coaches.
"I have been through the troughs and I have been to the peak of mountains or almost peaks of mountains in sport. I have seen it all and I have been through it all in sports so I have a particular empathy for everybody's job that I think is going to serve me well.
"Just take the football negotiations piece. Okay, it took a long time for us to get approvals but to our supporters at Leeds, just know this is my lifeblood, this is my wheelhouse, this is what I do.
"I am negotiating contracts in my sleep at the 49ers for a long time. To jump in and lend a hand with players and agents...yeah the ball is shaped differently and the sport is different but the agent game and the player game, it's very much the same.
"And that's what I made a name for myself in the American sports, a lot of the same things I am going to be able to apply and it just differentiates me from any other chairman."
