A one way system, take away cafe and allotted time slots for visiting are three of the measures being considered by Gorgie Farm when it reopens.
An open picnic area and measures to ensure groups of visitors don't gather too closely will also help the much-loved Edinburgh institution open safely.
Love Gorgie Farm had only reopened for two weeks when the coronavirus pandemic led to its closure alongside other Capital tourist attractions.
As well as continuing to fundraise through its JustGiving page, bosses at the farm have set up an Amazon wishlist to keep the animals well-fed during lockdown.
Despite losing on-site donations, group project manager Amber Isaacs remains upbeat about the future of the farm.
"The animals are blissfully unaware anything has changed," she explains. "That has been reassuring. We are also fortunate we received funding before we closed.
"I see the support the farm has and how much the community wants to help."

Since lockdown, staff at Gorgie Farm have looked for new ways to stay connected to the community, including offering sponsorship of its animals and delivering food parcels through food banks.
"We've had support from people as far away as Australia," says Amber.
"It's been an emotional rollercoaster but I have to stay positive. I know how much people care about the farm. People keep asking us when we will reopen and we don't know yet, but we are looking at ways to make it safe. We have our reopening strategy in place so we are ready to open as soon as we are told we can."
The plans include a one way system around the farm.
She adds: "We are also looking at ways to manage numbers, which could include allotted time slots or different set opening hours. Our cafe will be takeaway only and we are planning a picnic space."
The farm already has extra hand washing areas outside.
