Nadda flags off Parivartan Yatra, attacks Congress government in Rajasthan

Bharatiya Janata Party national president J.P. Nadda on Saturday called upon the people of Rajasthan to “throw out” the Congress regime in the upcoming State Assembly election and put an end to corruption, lawlessness, misgovernance and an irresponsible system. Mr. Nadda flagged off the BJP’s first Parivartan Yatra in Sawai Madhopur, which will cover 47 Assembly seats in eastern Rajasthan before culminating in Jaipur.

Mr. Nadda, accompanied by senior BJP leaders of the State, addressed a public meeting at the Dussehra ground after offering worship at the Trinetra Ganesh temple in Ranthambhore Fort. He said crimes against women were at their peak and corruption was rampant in the Congress dispensation.

“This Gehlot government is in fact a ‘Grih Loot Sarkar’ which loots the houses of the people. Congress is another name for loot, corruption and misgovernance, which the people should get rid of,” Mr. Nadda said.

The BJP chief said the common people were fed up with the Congress government, as it had failed to fulfil its promises made to the youths and farmers. The paper-leaks in competitive exams had spoiled the future of youths, farmers had been cheated, women had become victims of sexual offences, and there was an all-pervading atmosphere of theft and robbery, he said.

“It is the duty of the BJP workers today to rise to the occasion and end this misgovernance. Congress MLAs, on the other hand, have been given a free hand to indulge in corruption and fill the pockets of their top leadership in Delhi,” Mr. Nadda said. He also targeted the Opposition’s INDIA coalition, saying it was only meant to protect the families of the Opposition leaders rather than serve the people.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who visited three temples ahead of the yatra on Friday, BJP State president C.P. Joshi, Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Prahlad Singh, Rajya Sabha Member Kirodi Lal Meena and senior leaders Arun Singh and Satish Poonia were among those who attended the launch of Parivartan Yatra.

Three more yatras of the BJP will be launched from Dungarpur, Jaisalmer and Hanumangarh, situated in three corners of the State, in the coming week ahead of the 2023 State Assembly election. The party’s collective leadership will be in the limelight during the marches, instead of projecting a single face as a potential Chief Minister, while over 70 public meetings will be organised on the 8,982-km-long routes of the four yatras.
