The focus might have already shifted to the Buffalo Bills for the New England Patriots, but there’s no question that the Hunter Henry touchdown overturn will be the biggest talking point coming out of Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
It was another one of those plays that put to question what really counts as a catch in the NFL. The ball looked like it broke the plane, but the officials argued that Henry failed to maintain possession.
Angry fans have already been voicing their frustrations on Twitter for not only this play, but there were several calls and no-calls throughout the game that seemed questionable.
“I don’t know. It was a four-point play,” Belichick said after the game, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “There were a lot of other things that happened besides that, so.”

The Patriots shouldn’t escape culpability for the loss, particularly with all of the self-inflicted wounds on the field. Along with the continued struggles in the red zone, their clock management down the stretch was absolutely horrendous, and the personal foul penalties were a killer.
They didn’t give themselves a chance to win in moments when they seemingly had the Vikings on the ropes. That’s the only tangible problem Belichick can fix at this point.
