THE rector of the University of Glasgow has called the war on Gaza “America's genocide” after more than 400 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes.
Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the attacks early on Tuesday which killed 404 people, including women and children, and injured more than 600, the Gaza Health Ministry said.
Netanyahu, who is wanted for arrest by the International Criminal Court for war crimes, said he ordered the airstrikes due to a lack of progress in talks to extend the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The White House said it had been consulted and voiced support for Israel’s attacks on Gaza.
University of Glasgow rector Ghassan Abu-Sittah (below) has said The White House voicing support for Israel’s actions means America is also complicit with the genocide in Gaza.

Abu-Sittah, who is a world-leading expert on war-injured patients and children, posted on social media: “The moronic idea that Trump is a war hating fascist was laid to rest with the dead children of Gaza.
“This is America's genocide.”
The attacks on Tuesday ended a period of relative calm during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The airstrikes have also raised the prospect of a full return to fighting in a 17-month conflict that has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and caused widespread destruction across Gaza.
Abu-Sittah, a British-Palestinian medic, worked as a doctor in hospitals in Gaza in the immediate wake of the October 7 attacks on Israel.
He has previously given his first hand account of the atrocities he has witnessed while working in hospitals in Gaza.
He added on social media: “We have to defeat this monster. The alternative is genocide until total erasure.”
US President Donald Trump has previously said Palestinians would not have a right to return under his plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza.
Trump floated his plan for the US to take control of Gaza and turn it into “the Riviera of the Middle East” calling for Gaza’s people to be resettled elsewhere.
Last month, Trump doubled down on his comments as he said: “The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting.”
Since the ceasefire in Gaza began in mid-January, Israeli forces have killed dozens of Palestinians who the military says approached its troops or entered unauthorised areas.
