In the early morning on Tuesday, a ginger tabby somehow managed to board a train in St Albans, a suburb 17km from Melbourne’s city centre, and ride it all the way to Flinder’s Street Station in the CBD…OFC it’s an orange cat!!
CCTV footage showed the exact moment when the curious moggie first hopped onboard, alongside fellow morning commuters heading towards the city for work.
The day after, Premier of Victoria Jacinta Allan posted the video onto her Instagram page, asking folks to get in touch if their “gunzel cat” is not at home.

Allan also posted another photo of the train-bound cat being looked after by other passengers, describing the feline as a “well-behaved ginger cat who loves the train”. Too bloody cute.
“They didn’t have a Myki to touch on or off,” Allan wrote.
“But some kind passengers took care of them all the way to Flinders Street.
“So if you’re missing a well-behaved ginger cat who loves the train, please get in touch.”
In a Facebook post published to Brimbank Community on Tuesday, it was confirmed that the cat was taken to staff working at Flinders Street station, with commuters caring for the fare-evading feline along the way.

TV and radio host Jacqueline Felgate also posted the news on her own Instagram page, where commenters relished the chance to make some jokes.
“Did the cat remember to touch on and touch off?” one commenter wrote.

“Anyone who owns an orange cat will understand,” wrote another.
Another commenter claimed to work at Flinders Street Station, and stated that the little cat kept them company before being dropped off at a local Lost Dogs’ Home.
For all owners of especially-cheeky orange cats, we recommend keeping a close eye on their travels from now on.
