If you look up the word stoicism in the dictionary, you might find a picture of New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick right next to it.
No matter what’s going on around him, his game face is always steady and unflinching to the point where fans have jokingly pointed out that he might legitimately be a robot or a real-life Cyborg.
That was certainly the case in the Patriots’ run-in with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. On one play in particular, Rodgers rolls out of the pocket and flings a sideline throw right in the direction of Belichick. Any other person would have had at least some reaction with a football headed in their direction.
But Belichick, who was walking along the sideline at the time, never even broke stride, even after giving the ball a swift boot.

Perhaps even more impressive than the kick was the fact that Belichick didn’t even flinch when rookie cornerback Jack Jones came running in his direction. Nothing fazed his stroll down the sideline—not the ball or the speeding NFL defensive back running in pads.
And his facial expression never changed, either.
Victor Stone obviously has nothing on Belichick. Who needs a comic book character when you have the real thing coaching the Patriots?
