Machir Bay on the Isle of Islay in Scotland was named one of the best beaches in the whole of the UK to enjoy this winter by Country Living.
Discussing the "breath-takingly beautiful" location, the publication said that visitors will enjoy "windswept walks" along the beach's fine sands.
After a stroll here, travellers can let themselves thaw with a wee dram in front of a roaring fire.
The island itself is ideal for a "winter-warming break" with Islay boasting no less than nine distilleries "to warm your cockles" after a wander.
