A £40M ($49.7M) superyacht has been unveiled – especially for retired couples.

The cozy vessel features all the home comforts needed in old age – while boasting the ability to explore Earth’s most challenging environments.

Called 2US (to us), California-based Steve Kozloff Designs say the boat is pitched at “capable couples.”

The 134ft yacht is an ice-class explorer, able to handle polar conditions, and will accommodate a mini-submarine, a helicopter and a seaplane.

A tilting mast system allows the 2US to pass under bridges if a city break is needed.

Steve Kozloff, 69, explains: “It is something my wife and I have been discussing, we would like to have a yacht like this.

“Basically like a home for the ocean with all the amenities, garage workshop, room for toys and a great spacious living environment.”

While the target buyer may be older, it doesn’t mean they should have given up on a life of adventures.

Steve adds: “It would suit a married couple, but they would have to be capable mentally and physically.”

2US features five decks with a full beam 380ft² owner’s suite and one master suite. There are also guest cabins that can host six people in full luxury, and crew cabins that accommodate three crew, if needed.

The interior space has multi-levels, curved walls, and a multitude of large windows providing a near panoramic view.

An 1,800ft² aircraft hangar has a unique elevating and gyro stabilized landing pad. It can accommodate one helicopter and an IKON seaplane.

“The stabilized landing pad is designed to offer a stable platform during take-off and landing in rough conditions,” says Steve.

2US can cruise at nine knots for 6,000 nautical miles with diesel power only. Range is greatly extended with careful management of a hybrid diesel-electric systems and sail power. Under sail power only, it can make ten knots.

Steve estimates the vessel would cost an “estimated $40 to $50 million” to build.

“2US is a true world-class explorer sailing yacht with all the luxury of any super-yacht and much more,” he says.
