Third woman charged with terror offence for 'displaying images of paraglider at a pro-Palestinian rally'

A woman has been charged with a terror offence after allegedly displaying images of a paraglider at a pro-Palestinian rally in central London.

Noimutu Olayinka Taiwo, 27, from south London, was charged under the Terrorism Act in relation to images of paragliders she is said to have been wearing during a demonstration in White Hall on October 14.

It comes after two other women – Heba Algayey and Paulien Ankunda – were charged for the same offence as part of the same investigation.

They are accused of a single count of carrying or displaying an article to arouse reasonable suspicion that they are supporters of banned organisation Hamas. They have all been bailed to appear at Westminster magistrates' court on Friday.

Commander Dominic Murphy, of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command said: “On this case and others, officers are working tirelessly to investigate alleged offences linked to protest activity, and take action when there is evidence of criminality.

“We will continue to work with the Crown Prosecution Service to bring charges against people suspected of committing offences that encourage hate, and are harmful to communities.”

Hamas used paragliders as a part of its attack on Israel on October 7.
