It was third time lucky for Abbey Vale on Friday night.
The New Abbey club beat Creetown 2-1 at St Mary’s Park in the Alba Cup final.
And as well as giving them the trophy, the win means they’ll now face Renfrew and Luncarty for a place in next season’s Scottish Cup.
Co-manager Allan Clark said: “We’re absolutely delighted.
“It’s our third time of asking to win that cup as myself, Frazer (Brolls, co-manager) and some of the players have lost in the final to Mid Annandale and Nithsdale.
“It’s pleasing to finally win it. We’ve seen who we play for winning that cup and we know it will be hard.
“Renfrew are absolutely flying in the league, they played Threave in a cup earlier in the season so that shows how hard it will be.
“But we’re there and we’ve got a chance so we’ll go and enjoy it.”

Tyler Rennie got one back for the South of Scotland League Cup holders in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to stop Vale
lifting the trophy.
Clark said: “We couldn’t have got off to a better start although it got a wee bit nervy in the end up.
“We started slowly but grew into the game. However, once you get a goal so early, sometimes the players worry about losing a goal.
“We stopped trying to play football and were a bit more direct, which I think suited them at times, and we treated the ball a bit like a hot potato.
“We went in 2-0 up so couldn’t complain too much!
“Most folk I spoke to who were there watching said we deserved it and we’re delighted to get the win.”
Clark said: “Hopefully it’ll be on. It’s another cup so we’ll maybe change things a bit and give boys a game that haven’t played recently.”
