A third teenager has passed away in hospital after the car he was in entered the water in Galway in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene after they received reports of a car entering the water at Menlo Pier on the outskirts of the city around 2.40am.
Three male teenagers were removed from the water and taken to University Hospital Galway.

Two of the men were pronounced dead in hospital this morning and a third man was left fighting for his life, where his condition was described as 'critical'. Tragically, he died in intensive care on Saturday afternoon.
Two of the crash victims who were died earlier on Saturday were named locally as 16-year-old John Keenan, who was a promising young boxer with Olympic Boxing Club in Galway, and 17-year-old Wojcieck Panek.
The third man who died later that day was named as 19-year-old Christopher Stokes, who was also a boxer with Olympic Boxing Club.
Gardai have sealed off the scene at Menlo Pier and it remains preserved for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardai are continuing to investigate the single-vehicle crash and an appeal has been launched for witnesses or anyone with information to contact gardai.
In an updated statement, a spokesperson said: “Gardaí are continuing to investigate a fatal single vehicle road traffic incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday 11th February 2023 in County Galway.
"Three males were removed from the water and taken to University Hospital Galway where two of the males passed away.
"The third male removed from the water and taken to University Hospital Galway has now also passed away.
"The scene at Menlo Pier remains preserved for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.
