A third person of interest has been apprehended in Puerto Rico in connection with the Florida carjacking case that resulted in the tragic death of Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas. Kevin Ocasio Justiniano, aged 28, was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals on charges unrelated to the carjacking, specifically for drug trafficking and weapons offenses, as announced by Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma on Tuesday.
Authorities suspect that Justiniano was the driver of the green Acura captured in the now-viral video of the armed carjacking incident that took place at a busy Winter Springs intersection on April 11.
The cases of Justiniano and another person of interest, 28-year-old Jordanish Torres-Garcia, who is currently in custody for an unrelated matter, will be forwarded to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Both individuals are anticipated to face charges related to carjacking resulting in a death.
According to investigators, Torres-Garcia is believed to be the individual who approached the white 2017 Dodge Durango that Aguasvivas was driving, while reportedly brandishing a firearm during the carjacking incident.
