Things to do in and around Merseyside on New Year's Eve if you've got kids

New Year's Eve is fast approaching and it's time to say goodbye to 2022.

December 31 is an evening of celebration as people all around the world welcome in the new year. If you've got children, you might be unsure of the best way to mark the occasion in a way that you can all celebrate together.

Luckily, here in Merseyside, there are some great New Year's Eve events that the whole family can enjoy together. Whether you are looking to head to a theme park or go to a party, you are sure to find an event that's fun for all ages. If you're looking for some inspiration, we've rounded up a list of some of the best family friendly events happening in and around Merseyside this December 31.

Gulliver's World

Gulliver's World will be starting 2023 with a bang thanks to a family-friendly fireworks spectacular. The New Year's Eve party will be making a welcome return this year after missing two years due to the pandemic. The event will include family activities and entertainment, with selected rides and attractions open from 6pm until 11.30pm.

Visitors to the Warrington-based attraction can also enjoy exclusive character visits, shows and performances from street entertainers and fire performers. Gully Mouse's around the world party will be bringing hourly New Year celebrations as 2023 arrives in different countries.

Hot food and a bar will be available at the event, which will include a Northern Lights firework show at 9.30pm and a full fireworks finale when the clock strikes midnight. Party tickets are available from £39 and a New Year’s Eve Sparkle Ticket, including a hot snack, North Pole Express Experience and Pasha the polar bear show, is on offer from £43. Ruskin St Helens

A family New Year's Eve party is taking place at Ruskin St Helens.

Taking place in the Percival Suite from 7.30pm, the party includes a disco, children's entertainment and hotpot supper. Adults can also enjoy a glass of bubbly at midnight.

Family tickets (two adults and up to four children under 16) cost £45. Adult tickets are priced at £20 and children's tickets cost £5. To find out more, click here.

The Everglades New Year’s Eve Family Party

Taking place at the Everglades Hotel in Widnes, this New Year's Eve party promises to be fun for the whole family. Upon arrival, adults will be greeted with a glass of fizz whilst children can enjoy a special kiddie cocktail.

Guests will then be able to enjoy a two course buffet followed by freshly brewed coffee and mince pies. Children will be enthralled by a fun family entertainer. Guests can then dance their way into 2023 with music from the hotel's resident DJ. Tickets are free for children aged two and under, £30 for children aged over two and £55 for adults.
