Thieves steal BMW and 'large amount of tools' from industrial estate

An investigation has been launched after a BMW and a "large amount of tools" were stolen from a premises in a Meath industrial estate.

The burglary happened in the early hours of Thursday morning in the Mullaghboy Industrial Estate in Navan. Officers on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page said that "two males broke into the premises around 2.15am" and a "large amount of assorted tools were stolen during the course of the burglary".

Gardai said the thieves also stole a a white BMW 320 car from the premises and drove off from the scene at 5.05am.

Officers later found the car abandoned Old Athboy Road, Navan. They said they believe some of the stolen tools were left in a field in the Bohermeen area and were later collected and taken elsewhere.

They appealed for anyone who was in the area who may have noticed suspicious activity or have dash cam footage to contact Navan Garda Station on 046 9036100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardai are investigating a burglary that occurred at a commercial premises in Navan, Co. Meath between the hours of 2:00am and 5:00am on Thursday morning, 21 July 2022. A vehicle and a number of industrial tools were stolen in the incident.

"The vehicle has since been recovered. No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing."
