Thieves steal £30,000 JCB excavator from West Lothian wind farm

Thieves have made off with a £30,000 JCB excavator after targeting a West Lothian farm this week.

Police officers in West Lothian are appealing for information after the construction machinery was stolen from a site in West Calder.

The theft occurred between 5pm on Thursday, April 28band 12.25pm on Monday, May, 2 when a JCB 8026 excavator was taken from Pearie Law Wind Farm.

The 3.5 tonne piece of machinery is valued at around £30,000.

A police spokesperson said: "Anyone who may have seen a large piece of machinery like this being transported in the area between Thursday evening and Monday lunchtime is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1721 of 2 May. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
